about the speaker
Joanne Perold With over 20 years of experience across product development, coaching, business intelligence, and executive leadership, Joanne discovered Agile in 2008, transforming how she approaches work and leadership. Since 2012, she has grown alongside a peer group of leaders and coaches, deepening her expertise in Agile methods, leadership development, and process improvement. Joanne takes a pragmatic, critical-thinking approach to coaching, helping teams and organizations transform using Scrum, Kanban, Flight Levels, and other frameworks.
She is passionate about creating spaces for reflection and growth, leveraging her strengths in coaching, product development, strategic thinking, and human interactions to foster safety and collaboration. Outside of work, Joanne gives back by mentoring, coaching, and training at local universities and user groups, contributing to communities in South Africa and globally.
Elsje van Rooyen is an accomplished project portfolio manager with over a decade of experience within the retail sector. She has been in various project manager, programme manager and portfolio manager roles at Momentum Group Limited since January 2008. Currently, she serves as the Project Portfolio manager in one of the Business units in Momentum, and heads up the Project Management Office, a role she has held since October 2022. With a robust track record that spans 24 years at Momentum, Elsje has demonstrated her expertise in driving key programs and strategic initiatives that deliver tangible results. Her educational background includes a Master`s degree in Informatics from the University of Pretoria, equipping her with a strong foundation in data and technology management. Elsje`s blend of technical knowledge and leadership skills makes her a pivotal figure in her field, where she continues to lead complex projects and innovate within the industry.
